Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Dreamchasers collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS app. By using Dreamchasers, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Dreamchasers is designed to keep your personal content private. Here is a full breakdown of what we collect and why:

Stored on your device only:

• Journal entries including Daily Step, Gratitude entries, and Vibe Check mood logs.
• Goals, goal notes, and completion records.
• Affirmations, favorites, and affirmations you write yourself.
• Onboarding responses including your dream description, career aspirations, lifestyle preferences, and priority rankings.
• AI-generated vision board images.
• App settings, theme preferences, and notification preferences.

Processed by third-party AI services but not stored by us:

• Photos you upload for vision board generation are sent to Google's Gemini Image Generation API over an encrypted connection. We do not retain your original photos on our servers.
• Journal entries, dream descriptions, and chat messages sent to the CC coaching feature are processed by Anthropic's Claude API in real time. We do not store copies of these on our servers beyond what is necessary to deliver the response.

Stored in our infrastructure (minimal and non-personal):

• An anonymous device identifier used to track vision board generation status and prevent duplicate charges.
• Message usage counters to enforce fair usage limits on the CC coaching feature.
• Subscription status confirmation received from Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details.
• Error logs used to identify and fix technical issues, containing no personal content.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above exclusively to provide and improve the Dreamchasers experience. Specifically:

• To generate your personalized AI vision board images.
• To power the CC coaching feature with relevant context about your goals and progress.
• To generate your weekly and monthly journal progress reports.
• To manage your subscription access and enforce fair usage limits.
• To sync your data across your Apple devices via iCloud, which is handled entirely by Apple.
• To send you optional push notifications about new vision board reveals and trial status.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own commercial purposes.

3. Third-Party AI Services

Dreamchasers uses the following AI services to power core features. When you use these features, relevant content is transmitted to these services:

• Anthropic Claude API — processes your messages to CC, journal entries for report generation, and dream descriptions for creating affirmations and image prompts. Anthropic's Privacy Policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.
• Google Gemini Image Generation API — processes your photos and scene descriptions to generate vision board images. Google's Privacy Policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services to understand how they handle data processed through their APIs.

4. Your Photos

We understand that uploading your photo is a significant act of trust. Here is exactly what happens to it:

• Your photo is sent directly to Google's Gemini API over an encrypted HTTPS connection for vision board image generation.
• Generated images are saved to your device's local storage and optionally to encrypted cloud storage tied to your device identifier for backup purposes.
• Your original photo is never stored on our servers in any form.
• Your photo is never used to train AI models on our end.
• Your photo is never shared with any party other than Google's API for the stated generation purpose.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your personal content — journal entries, goals, affirmations, and generated images — is stored locally on your device and backed up to your personal iCloud account through Apple's encrypted backup infrastructure. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

The minimal data we store in our infrastructure, including device identifiers and usage counters, is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest in our database. We use Supabase as our backend infrastructure provider.

6. iCloud Sync

Dreamchasers uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your personal data across your own Apple devices. This sync is encrypted end-to-end and governed by Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy. We do not have access to data stored in your personal iCloud account.

7. Push Notifications

With your permission, Dreamchasers sends push notifications to remind you of trial status, new weekly vision board reveals, and optional daily engagement prompts. You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone Settings. We use Apple's Push Notification Service (APNs) to deliver notifications, which requires sending a device token to our servers. This token is used only to send notifications and is not linked to any personal identifying information.

8. Children's Privacy

Dreamchasers is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@dreamchasers.app and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights with respect to your data:

• Delete your data: You can delete all data associated with your account at any time using the Delete My Data option in the Profile section of the app. This permanently erases your local data, iCloud backup data, and any minimal data we hold in our infrastructure.
• Access your data: Because most of your data is stored on your own device, you can view it directly within the app at any time.
• Opt out of notifications: You can disable push notifications at any time in your iPhone Settings.
• Cancel your subscription: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.

10. Data Retention

Data stored on your device is retained until you delete it or uninstall the app. Minimal data stored in our infrastructure such as device identifiers and usage counters is retained for as long as your account is active and deleted within 30 days of a Delete My Data request. iCloud data is managed by Apple and subject to their retention policies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
